Oneida Mae Johnson

Oneida Mae Johnson, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 7, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on March 5,1933 in Pike County Kentucky, Oneida was known for her warm smile, generous heart, and the love she poured into her family. Oneida's journey was one of passion and joy. She dedicated many years to being a mother, grandmother, and wife. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook, touching the lives of all she met with her kindness, wisdom, and stories. Oneida found joy in hanging out with her girls, going shopping, getting breakfast, and being with her grandchildren.

Oneida is survived by Gregory Johnson and wife Cindy of White Pigeon, MI; Rhonda Puckett of Niles, MI; Timothy Johnson of Vandalia, MI; Tina Young and husband Joseph of Vandalia, MI; Michelle Johnson of Vandalia, MI; and son-in-law, Sylvester Johnson of Vandalia, MI. Thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren will miss her deeply but take comfort in the countless memories they shared. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, as well as her husband, Hobert Johnson, and her daughter, Shirley Johnson.

A celebration of Oneida's life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1:00pm at Michiana Church of Christ, 504 E Prairie Ronde St, Dowagiac, MI 49047. Oneida Mae Johnson will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
