Alice M. (Spenner) Quirk

ELKHART-Alice M. (Spenner) Quirk, 81, passed away January 4, 2021 at her home in Elkhart surrounded by family.  She was born October 23, 1939 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Arthur William & Kittie Evelyn (Handy) Spenner. 

  On June 21, 1963 she married Burt Fred Quirk; he preceded her in death on August 29, 2006.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, David Spenner and 1 granddaughter, Stephanie N. Posick, 1 great-granddaughter, Tru P. Wyman.

  Surviving are 8 children, Cynthia Gaunder of Jacksonville, FL, Pamela Speith, Sharon (JR) Frame, Tamara (Willie) Boyd, Wayne (Holly) Quirk,

Dawn (Robin) Kilgore, Kitty (Brian) Lange, William Quirk all of Elkhart.  Also surviving are 3 siblings, Susan Morss, Steven Spenner, Michael Spenner all of Berrien Springs, MI and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  Alice was a loving wife and stay-at-home mother to eight children, and not only a grandmother to 19 grandchildren, but also a secondary care giver to most of her grandkids.  She is also leaving behind 23 great- grandchildren.  She was the oldest of 5 children and will be missed deeply by a large extended family.

  A celebration of Alice’s amazing life will take place at a later date.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care. 

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
