ELKHART- Aloma M. Scott, 79, of Elkhart, died Sunday September 12, 2021, at Elkhart Meadows. She was born May 6, 1942, in Bremen, Indiana to Emil and Laura (Thomas) Schutz.
On June 20, 1965, in Bremen, Indiana she married Richard L. Scott. He survives along with 2 children, Christina (Douglas) Krugh of Elkhart, Michael (Sarah) Scott of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren, Dustin Hoy, Michael Hoy, Jarod Krugh, Jessica Scott, Allison Scott, Peyton Scott, Alexis Scott, Brittany Krugh, Courtney Reaper; 5 great-grandchildren, Mason, Elijah, Ember, Aubrey, and Edith and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, KaSondra Soloman, Letricha Schutz, Regina Shafer and 2 half-brothers, William Weaver and Dick Weaver.
Aloma was a member for over 25 years of the Extension Homemakers Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, and working in her flower gardens. Aloma and her husband Richard were band parents for the Concord High School Band. They traveled with the band to Hawaii, New York, and Florida. Aloma continued to sew uniforms and flags for several years after their daughter graduated.
Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services. A gathering and service of remembrance for family and friends will be held on Saturday October 2, 2021, from 2:30 p.m. till 5;00 p.m. at the Dunlap United Methodist Church. Pastor Melissa Englehart will preside.
Burial will be private for family only at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.
