Arlene Kenny Bassett

GOSHEN- Arlene Kenny Bassett, 78, of Goshen, died Wednesday September 15, 2021, at Goshen Hospital.  She was born July 27, 1943, in Hartford, CT to Harold and Margaret (Dumas) Kenny.

On August 25, 1959, she married Myron W. Bassett.  He survives along with 1 son, William “Bill” Bassett of Elkhart, IN: 1 brother, Jack Kenny of Brandon, VT and 2 sisters, Wendy (Edward) Huether of N. Ft. Myers, FL and Beatrice (Wayne) Higgins of Pittsford, VT.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Todd Basset who died in 1995 and 1 brother, Bob Kenny.

Arlene was a certified executive housekeeper at Goshen College for many years and she enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting.

Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services. A celebration of life service for Arlene will be held at a later date and burial will be in Violett Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.

To remember Arlene and her expansive love for all humanity, we will host a Tree Planting Ceremony at Goshen College. Please convene at the Physical Plant at 1pm on 23rd of October for this Ceremony. Following the ceremony, you are invited to an Open House (2-7PM) at her home (1713 Mayfield Drive, Goshen) to celebrate her life.
