ELKHART-Barbara J. Parker, 76, passed away November 13, 2023, at Hubbard Hill Estates.  She was born February 14, 1947, in South Bend, to the late Marvin & “Bernie” (Anderson) Parker.

  Surviving is a sister, Mary Jo (Ted) Tschirart, a niece, Wendy Linton, a nephew, Greg Linton, and several friends.

  Barbara received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education, both from I.U.  She was a member of Delta Theta CHI Sorority, where she was a past national president and a member of the Altrusa club.   Barbara also volunteered at switchboard concern, Woodlawn Nature Center Board, enjoyed reading, doing yardwork, flower gardening, and attending Central Christian Church.

  Per her wishes cremation will take place and there will be no services.

  Memorial contributions may be given to Central Christian Church or to the Elkhart Community Foundation Literacy Program. 

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
