Carol Sue Carter, 77, of Goshen, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at her residence in Goshen, Indiana. She was born on March 18, 1947, in Bronson, Michigan, to Harold Ray and Berdine (Getz) Weaver.
On July 14, 1965, in White Pigeon, Michigan, Carol married Don G. Carter. He survives along with three children, Daniel Carter of Buffalo, WY; Stephen (Trixie) Carter of Winthrop Harbor, IL; Jennifer (David) Thomas of Bristol, IN; four grandchildren, Audrey Renee Carter of Winthrop Harbor, IL; Bradley David Thomas of Bristol, IN; Emily Sue Thomas of Elkhart, IN; Tyrese Thomas of Bristol, IN; and three brothers, Lowell (Donna) Weaver of Tavares, FL; James (Connie) Weaver of Bristol, IN; and Robert (Geraldine) Weaver of Ft. Myers, FL. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her son, Brad Gordon Carter; grandson, Vincent Gordon Carter; two brothers, Ronald Dean Weaver and Donald Eugene Weaver; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Carter.
Carol was formerly employed as a dental assistant and office manager. She received her Master Gardener degree from Michigan State University and was a grand-champion and best-of-show recipient at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair in quilting. She was a pine-needle basket weaver, and she enjoyed cooking and baking.
Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 20943 C.R. 6, Bristol, IN. Pastor Karen Strietelmeier will render the service.
