Carol J. McCreary

Carol McCreary, 87, passed away unexpectedly at Elkhart General Hospital on Saturday, November 2, 2024 following a brief illness. She was born on December 12, 1936, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Russell Dean and Leoma Bradley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Russell Dean; and her daughter, Michele McCreary.

Carol is survived by her sister, Sandy Fickle of Elkhart, Indiana; her daughter, Cheri (David) Eichen of Milton, Florida; her son, Michael (Sue) McCreary of Northampton, Massachusetts; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved Havanese, Kilee.

Carol retired from First American Title Company in Florida before moving to Elkhart. She lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her sharp intellect, fierce independence, easy laughter, and unwavering commitment to her core beliefs and values.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life is being planned for spring 2025. Elkhart Cremation Services is handling the arrangements, and condolences may be left on their website.
