Catherine "Cathy" Joanne Olvera

ELKHART-Catherine “Cathy” J. Olvera, 54, passed away February 3, 2026 at her home in Elkhart.  She was born October 10, 1971, in Elkhart.

  On June 14, 2005, she married Oscar Olvera Gallardo; he survives along with

5 children, Sabrina Missos, Nick (Bexi) Freel, Eva Olvera, Felicita Olvera, Darrien Harris, 8 grandchildren, and a brother, Scott (Tara) Freel.  She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Freel.

  Cathy enjoyed dancing, singing, listening to music, watching tik toks, horror movies, true crime series, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.  She was stubborn, loyal, kind-hearted, funny, easy to love, and had a genuine soul. 

  Per her wishes cremation will take place and there will be a celebration of life gathering Friday, February 20, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd. Elkhart, IN 46516.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help offset expenses.

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
