Claire Deal Obituary

ELKHART-Claire J. Deal, 81, passed away June 7, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born February 9, 1940 in Mishawaka, IN to Bernard & Henrietta (Raugh) Kronewitter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, Raymond Johnson and Terrence Deal, 1 son, Kevin Johnson and 6 siblings.

Surviving are 4 sons, David Hushower, Mark (Christine) Hayes, Todd Johnson, Jacob Deal, 16 grandchildren, Adam, Kristen, Nicholas, David, Anthony, Andrew, Brittany, Sarah, Ashley, Darin, Asia, Jacob, Kylie, David, Tiffany, and Amara. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and 1 brother, Bud Kronewitter.

Claire was a member of the National Wildlife Foundation and loved to watch and take care of her birds at home. She also enjoyed photography.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Claire on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 10:00am. This will be held at Granger Missionary Church located at 50841 Birch Rd. in Granger, IN 46530.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
