Clarence J. Black, 73, passed away June 30, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born April 19, 1948 in Celina, Ohio to Clarence & Josephine (Billerman) Black.
On August 17, 1968 he married the love of his life Sheryl Mohr; she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan.
Surviving are 3 wonderful children, Stephanie (Brent) Seals, Sherrye Black, Eric Black, 5 grandchildren, Kendall, Thomas, Kaia, Satchel, Nadia 3 great-grandchildren, Kinslee, Kielee, Sophia. Also surviving are 2 siblings, Dick (Connie) Black, Roberta (Walt) Schmidt, numerous other family members. Clarence and Sheryl also had many other “adopted” children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren left to cherish their memory.
Clarence moved to Indiana in 1976 to make a better life for the family. He worked for Skyline Corp. for close to 40 years before his retirement in June 2014. You could usually find him with a fishing pole in his hand, watching NASCAR, traipsing through the woods looking for mushrooms or just doing anything outside.
The family will do a celebration of life service on July 24, 2021, times and locations are to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
