Claribelle L Reed

EDWARDSBURG, MI – Claribelle L. Reed, 94, of Edwardsburg passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2020 at her home.

She was born on December 10, 1925 in Lansing, MI to the late George & Jacoba (Flepse) Rickett.

On July 9, 1945 she married William Dale Reed, they were happily married for 57 years, he passed away on February 9, 2002.

Claribelle is survived by: her daughter, Linda Alford of Edwardsburg, 4 grandchildren: Stephanie (Barry) Floyd of Elkhart, Jason Witman of Elkhart and 2 more grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, Sierra Lawson of Texas.

She was preceded in death by:a daughter, Sherrie Clemons, two sisters, Gladys Miller and Helen Stankus,  two brothers; Clarence Ricketts and Howard Ricketts.

Per Claribelle’s wishes there will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Claribelle spent her working years employed for Jerry O’Connor, Attorney at Law , also employed at Whitehall Labs, she retired from Gemeinhardt  as an assembly worker. After they retired in 1981 she and her husband would spend winter vacations at Lake Okeechobee in Florida, summers would be spent in Idlewild, MI. She loved to watch the NASCAR racing, especially Jeff Gordon, she enjoyed crafts, mostly bead work and ceramics, collecting beanie babies, enjoyed bowling and golfing.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.

Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her arrangements.
