Dalton Lee Cady Obituary

GRANGER- Dalton Lee Cady, 79, of Granger, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Elkhart. He was born July 30, 1946, in Bremerton, Washington to the late Harrison H. and Goldie L. Franklin. On November 20, 1971, he married Rose M. (Whetstone) Cady.


In addition to his wife, survivors include 2 children, Paul Douglas Cady and Kimberly Rose Harris; 2 grandchildren, Connor R (Lily) Harris, Cannon R. (Morgan) Harris; 1 great-grandson, Caspian Harris and 1 brother-in-law, Earl (Jackie) Whetstone.


He served proudly in the US Navy from December 30, 1964, until December 13, 1968, and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars.


Dalton worked as a general contractor for several years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Jellystone Campground.


A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516. Graveside services and military honors will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart, IN. Pastor Scottie Miller from St. Mark Missionary Church will officiate.


Memorial contributions made be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Dalton.


Elkhart Cremation Service, 2100 W. Franklin Street, Elkhart, is entrusted with his arrangements.
