Danny R Hochstetler, 73, of Goshen passed away at home on April 16, 2026 after an illness. He was born in Bremen Indiana on September 1, 1952 to the late Merland and Rose (Crothers) Hochstetler. On July 4, 2011 he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Patricia Quinn.
Danny was known for being a hard worker and he gave 100% to every job he held. He retired from Independent Protection Services in 2024, having worked there for 25 years. His was an avid Civil War buff, visiting battlefields and museums whenever possible. He loved browsing through antique shops and collecting depression era glass. He had a fondness for The Great Smoky Mountains and vacationed there numerous times, during every season, to enjoy all it’s beauty.
Danny is survived by his loving by wife, Patricia, his sisters Donell Housel and Cindy (Jack) Garner, his children, Brian (Melissa) Hochstetler, Jason (Chrissy) Hochstetler and Sarah (Brian Bakalik) Shelton. He is also survived by two step-children, Nicholas Bartle (who helped care for him during the last 16 months), and Pamela (Joshua) Pittenger. Grandchildren Lillian, Jaylen and Jazmine Hochstetler, Allison Norris and Isabella and Hendrix Shelton. Step grandchildren, JJ Back, Gaige Lentz, Lila, Wyatt and Ellie Pittenger, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Alton Hochstetler and a brother in law, Rick Housel.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 on May 16 with a service following at 11:00 at Waypoint Community Church, 56892 County Road 29, Goshen.
