A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Trinity on Jackson. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. and from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  The service will commence at 6:00 pm. Solace is taken in memories we hold dear, wisdom imparted, laughter shared, a wonderful sense of humor, a warm embrace, as well as Dan's humility, kindness and generosity.

At the age of seven, Dan began his battle with polio. However, he never let it keep him from accomplishing the goals he set for himself even though later in life he battled post polio syndrome.  Life was not easy; but, Dan never complained.  He loved his family dearly and relished every moment he spent with them.

He graduated from Elkhart High School and went on to study business and finance at Tri State University (Trine).  At Tri State, he pledged Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Dan spent 30 plus years in the banking industry; his specialty being mortgage lending. He was also a  licensed Real Estate broker and Real Estate appraiser. He was recognized by the American Banker's Assoc. for developing an alternative mortgage lending program which was adopted state wide that benefited both the borrowers and lenders.

One of his greatest loves was sailing.  He enjoyed bare boat sailing with friends and family on Lake Michigan, in the Bahamas and numerous islands in the Caribbean.

Prior to retirement and declining health, Dan was a member of Maple Crest and the Elcona Country Clubs, Kiwanis, Builder's Assoc of Elkhart and St. Joe County,  Indiana and American Banker's Assoc., and Elkhart Chamber of Commerce. He also served on numerous committees at Trinity on Jackson, where he was a member.

The family would like to thank Goshen Home Care and Hospice for their loving care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity on Jackson, 2715 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46516 or St. Judes's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
