David G. Nantais Obituary

David G. Nantais, 82, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 1, 1942, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Harold John and Delima Agnes (Soucie) Nantais.


On December 24, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan, David married Carolyn C. Valentine. She survives along with four sons, Matthew (Sandra) Nantais of Monroe, LA; Jeffrey Nantais of Lowell, IN; Robert (Laura) Nantais of Crawfordsville, IN; Eric (Lisa) Nantais of Chesterton, IN; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Darlene Buffa.


David was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and Local #150 of the Heavy Operators Union. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. David was an avid outdoorsman, avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, and was a volunteer for the Special Olympics. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years.


Cremation will take place at Elkhart Cremation Services, and a celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.


Memorial contributions may be given to the Montgomery County Special Olympics.
