DAVID H. SCOVILLE
November 2, 1942 – September 23, 2025
ELKHART, IN- David H. Scoville, 82, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away Tuesday September 23, 2025 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka. David was born in Elkhart, Indiana and was the oldest son of Howard & Mary Ellen (Teed) Scoville, who preceded him in death. His brothers, Thomas Eugene Scoville and John W. Scoville and son-in-law, Craig Gonsoski also preceded him in death.
He married Elke R. Stubbe in 1966 from Berlin, Germany and in that marriage, his beloved daughter, Vanessa (Scoville) Gonsoski, was born. She married Graig Gonsoski, and from that marriage, his granddaughters Morgan and Olivia Gonsoski were born. He leaves to cherish his memories many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
David served in the US Army from June 1960 to May 1966 as a Green Beret E-6 with the 82nd Airborne Division and attended Parachute School and taught firearms in Laos. He was formerly employed as a Tool & Die Maker at L.E. Johson Products in Elkhart.
During his Christian Walk, he served in Prison Ministry, and he was a faithful member of both the Church on the Rock in Elkhart, Indiana, and Christ Church of the Word in Cassopolis, Michigan. David was a current member of Kessington Community Church in Union, Michigan. Dave loved sharing his love for Jesus Christ with everyone he met.
Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life service will be held at Noon on Thursday October 2, 2025, at the Omega Event Center, 2130 Middlebury Street, Elkhart, Indiana 46516. Pastor Steve Steele will render the service, and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, here the US Army Honor Guard will render military honors. Friends may visit with the family for 1 hour prior to the start of the service at the Omega Event Center.
Following the service at Prairie Street Cemetery a meal will be served back at the Omega Event Center, and all are invited to attend.
