Debra Joan Proctor, 74, passed away March 2, 2026, in Fishers IN after a hard battle with ALS. She was born October 31, 1951, in Buchanan, Michigan. Debbie married her beloved husband Dewayne on May 31", 2002, who recently passed on February 13,2026. Together they lived in Union, MI for many years before moving to Harlingen, TX.

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Dewayne, parents Wallace and Patricia Hipshear, and her son Trent Kizer. She was a proud mother of two sons, Todd (Jacqueline) Kizer and Trent Kizer. As well as 3 stepsons Scott Proctor, Todd (Tammy) Proctor, and Brad (Angela) Proctor. Along with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Debbie is also survived by her sister Sharon (Tom) Prusinki and brother Bruce (Suzie) Hipshear.

Debbie graduated from Buchanan high school in 1969, then went on to earn her Nursing Degree from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in South Bend, IN in 1972. She spent her entire career, over 35 years, as a Nurse and finished her career at Center for Hospice . She was well known for her amazing cooking skills, her passion for sewing and quilting, and the friendship she welcomed. Her and Dewayne enjoyed traveling with family and friends, over the years they visited many states, set sail on cruises, and traveled the country yearly from their home in Texas to visit family in the Midwest.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 9, 2026, at the Porter Township Fire Department in Union, Michigan.  Family and friends may visit between 2-4 pm.
