Dennis L. Freel, 79, passed away on December 20, 2024, at his home in Elkhart, IN. He was born on April 27, 1945, in Knox, IN, to the late Francis & Helen (Hill) Freel.
On May 20, 1967, he married Annette Blanchard; she survives along with a daughter, Kimberly Freel and son-in-law, Steven Nabicht; and four siblings, James Freel, Kathy Adams, Janet Bell, and Michael Freel.
Dennis graduated from Penn High School in 1965. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War, earning a Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars. He retired from Bendix/AlliedSignal Inc./Honeywell in 2001, after over 35 years as an aerospace inspector. Dennis was a member of the A.S.N.T., the U.A.W., and Bowlers Country Club. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, bow hunting, making jewelry, and was a talented craftsman. He will be remembered as a very giving person with a kind heart.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 10:00a.m.-3:00p.m. at Willowdale Pavilion, 1320 Olive Avenue, Elkhart, IN. A service, with military honors rendered, will be held at 11:00 a.m.
