Obituary
Dennis Leroy Strahan Sr., 71, of Elkhart passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023, at Elkhart Meadows following a long battle with dementia. He was born January 2, 1952, in South Bend to his parents, the late James and Betty Strahan. Also preceding him in death were a brother, Gerald, and a half-sister, Sherry.
He married Debra Geerts on July 4, 1996. She survives along with two children: Dennis L. (Dianna) Strahan Jr. of Mishawaka and Theresa M. (Matthew) Heffner of South Bend; and one grandchild, Drew Jones of South Bend.
Dennis graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1970. He was employed in the RV distribution business for over 40 years. He worked for Fastec in Elkhart for 25 years in general, sales, and purchasing management. He built many lasting friendships with customers and coworkers due to his service orientation, integrity, and humor.
He loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and participated in fast pitch softball and volleyball in his younger years. He also collected baseball cards and enjoyed going to auctions and estate sales.
Per Dennis’s wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held. Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
