Dewayne Donald Proctor, 89, passed away February 13, 2026 in Fishers, IN. He was born February 2, 1937, in Neligh, Nebraska.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Shirley Proctor.
Dewayne married his beloved wife Debbie on May, 31st, 2002, who passed away on March 2, 2026. They are now dancing in Heaven together again.
Surviving are 3 children, Scott Proctor, Todd (Tammy) Proctor, Brad (Angela) Proctor, and a stepson, Todd (Jacqueline) Kizer, Also, surviving are 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Earl Proctor and nieces and nephews.
Dewayne was in the Army Reserve from 1956-1958. He worked for GTE in Elkhart, IN. for over 40 years. Dewayne was also volunteer fireman for Porter Township Fire Department in Union MI. for 25 years. A portion of that time he was the Fire Chief. Dewayne also owned his own HVAC business where he serviced the surrounding communities.
One of his passions was riding his Gold Wing motorcycle. Dewayne enjoyed playing games and loved tinkering around the house repairing things.
A celebration of life service will be held privately at a later date.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
