She is preceded by her parents, Bill and Ethel Saunders, her husband Laverne Zenoni, and two children, Sheri Monit and Jay Zenoni.
Diane was born on 10/17/1944 in Detroit Michigan to Bill and Ethel Saunders. She was an only child. She worked as a Nursing Assistant before meeting her late husband, Laverne Zenoni, whom she was married to on March 18th, 1972. They were married for 41 years when he passed away in 2014.
Diane had four children, Sheri, Jeff, Mike, and Jay. In 1992 she gained guardianship over her grandchildren, Brian and Jennifer, and raised them through adulthood from ages 4 and 2. She took on the roll of mom and sacrificed her retirement without hesitation. In 1995 Diane and Vern moved to Houghton Lake, Michigan from Dearborn Heights to provide a much-needed change of pace from the hectic city they had called home.
Diane loved to teach her grandchildren. She taught all of her grandchildren how to read. She enjoyed going with friends to sing karaoke, making cookies for the family every Christmas, building and decorating dollhouses (which she gifted to her grandchildren) and drawing. She cherished her friendships and spoke frequently with her friends Rita and Marie.
Memorial services for Diane will not be conducted at this time. Memorial contribution in memory of Diane can be directed to the multiple sclerosis foundation.
Until we meet again grandma, keep on “twirling”.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with her care.
