Donell Hopson

ELKHART-Donell Hopson, 83, passed away November 7, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare in Elkhart.  He was born November 29, 1941, in Hope, AR.

  Surviving are 2 daughters, Denise (Larry) Cooper-Sawyers, Sandy (N.C.) Bowen, 15 grandchildren, Donisha (Ronald Walden) , Shamika, Monica, Dionta (Karissa) McBride, Donitta, Donetta, Darnell, David, Delane, Keisha, Montez, Takisha, Jaquarius, Jaquanta, and Courtney, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Rosemary (Joe) Porter.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, Giles Hopson and Rose Hill, a daughter, Deborah McBride, 4 siblings, Sam, Vera, Verla, and Verna.

  Donell was an easy going and outspoken man that enjoyed walking, singing, spending time with his family and having a nice glass of wine.  He was also a big fan of the Temptations.  He will by truly missed by his family.  

  Per his wishes cremation will take place and there a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help offset expenses. 

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
