Douglas Kent Kern

ELKHART- Douglas Kent Kern, 83, passed away on July 29, 2025 at his residence in Elkhart, In.  Douglas was born June 3, 1942, in Elkhart, In. to Leonard Francis Kern and Blanche Mae (Parcell) Kern.

He is survived by 3 children Jeffrey (Cathy) Kern, Steven (Donna Van Horn) Kern and a daughter Cynthia Crussemeyer.  8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also a sister Janice Crain.

For the past five years Doug lived with his sister Jan in Elkhart.  They enjoyed watching sports, cooking, trips to the casino and playing domino’s.

Doug graduated from Jimtown High School in 1960.  He loved Jintown football, White Sox’s, Chicago Bears, and golfing.

He worked many years at Gemeinhardt, Conn Selmer, retired from Arrow Distributing.

Doug will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and love for his family.

Per his wishes cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 30, 2025 at Hotel Elkhart, 500 South Main St.  Elkhart, In  46516, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
