Edmund Douglas Farmwald

Edmund Douglas Farmwald, 86, resident of Goshen, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Center for Hospice Care—Esther’s House, Elkhart, IN. He was born on April 11, 1938 in Goshen to Carl F. and Elizabeth (Rizzo) Farmwald, both of whom preceded him in death.

Edmund married the former Linda L. Rheinheimer, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 47 years, Edmund is survived by his six children: Doug (Brenda) Farmwald of South Bend, IN; Guy (Diane) Farmwald of Syracuse, IN; Chip (Lynn) Lantz of Mesa, AZ; Margie (Tim) Ropp of Lafayette, IN; Karmel (Jerry) Strauss of Syracuse, IN; Frank ((Stacie Bennington) Farmwald of Lebanon, IN. Edmund is also survived by his brother-in-law, John (Chris) Covington of Alabama; sister-in-law, Deb (Rod) Cart of Elkhart, IN; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Edmund was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alicia Jensen; sister-in-law, Rita (Bob) Hostetler; and brother-in-law, Shorty Rheinheimer.

Edmund was employed as a purchasing agent for recreational vehicle manufacturing. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
