Ernest Willard Bennett

MISHAWAKA- Ernest Willard Bennett, 82, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday September 24, 2020 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.  He was born August 27, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana to Melvin & Ruby (Clayton) Bennett.

     On October 8, 1960 he married Rosemary Wruble.  She survives along with a daughter, Regina (Bruce) Lackey of Warsaw; 4 grandchildren, Dan (Samantha) Bennett, Travis (Hannah) Bennett, Alaina (Cody) McDonald, Shanai (Cody) Utter and 7 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Adin, Bruce, Pheabie, Jeff, Adalie and Sam.  Also surviving are 3 brothers, 4 sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Edward Bennett who died on Feb. 25, 2020, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

     Ernest enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and loved going to auctions.  He worked for many years as a butcher and most recently worked at D.C. Meats in Osceola and at Martin’s Supermarkets.

     In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care.

     Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donors choice.
