Frank Lee Jones

ELKHART- Frank Lee Jones, 91 of Elkhart, IN and Ft. Myers Beach, FL, passed away Sunday June 22, 2025, at Hubbard Hill Living Wisdom Center.  He was born August 22, 1933, in Etna Green, IN to Willard & Nora (Martz) Jones.

     Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eleanor Wade and two brothers, Howard Jones and Earl Jones.  On September 1, 2007, Frank married Linda Kay Lemmon, who preceded him in death.  Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer (Philip) Conley of Elkhart, IN and Brenda Jones of Mishawaka, IN and a grandson, Blake Lindsey of Hermitage, TN; three stepdaughters, Brinda (Mike)  Chrispyn, Glenda (Karl) Thompson and Tina (Bradley) Nord all of Elkhart; and a stepson, Glenn (Mary) Lemmon, Jr., of Goshen.

     Mr. Jones was a 1951 graduate of Elkhart High School, and he attended Indiana University of South Bend.  He served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ajax in the Pacific and Far East.

     Mr. Jones was a long-time employee of Excel Industries. He retired in 1994, after 42 ½ years with the company. He held many positions with the company such as plant engineer, manufacturing manager, chief engineer, assistant plant manager and plant manager of Excel Corporation in Elkhart.

            He also filled the positions of corporate engineer and corporate engineering chief. The last 15 years with the company were spent as general manager of Excel of Tennessee in Lawrenceburg where Excel pioneered the use of rim molding of windows and encapsulated hardware still in use today. He also was the general manager of Excel Components of Toledo, Ohio.

            Frank was an avid golfer and former member of Four Lakes, Christiana Creek and Elcona County Clubs.

            Elkhart Cremation is entrusted with his care.
