Fred D. Nihart

Fred D. Nihart, 66, passed away May 2, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on February 26, 1958, in Elkhart, IN

Surviving are his father, Lorell Nihart; sister, Charmane (Cris) Mead; nephew, Jason (Paula) Mead; and two nieces, Angela (Matthew) Jewett, and Christy Gonzalez. Also surviving are numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Carson.

Fred formally worked for Midwest Automotive for many years. He enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, cooking, and taking care of his yard. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature and his kindhearted spirit. 

Per his wishes, cremation will take place, and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society. 

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
