Grace Eileen Spake of Elkhart, Indiana, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord on July 23, 2026, at the age of 92. Grace was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on May 21, 1934, to Eliza Hoover (Smith) and the late George Hansen, her biological father who passed away prior to her birth. She was lovingly raised from infancy by her mother and her father, Harvey Hoover. She graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1952. On September 13, 1952, she married Lynn Frederick Spake in Osceola, Indiana, beginning a marriage built on faith, love, and unwavering devotion to family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lynn Spake; her son, Stacey Spake; her granddaughter, Lynn Howard; her sisters; and her parents. Grace is survived by her five living children: Teresa Spake, Danita (Timothy) McDowell, Scott Spake, Susan Gallegos, and Brenda Spake, while forever honoring the memory of her son, Stacey. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Grace will be remembered for her enormous heart, unwavering faith, and unconditional love. She was always willing to help someone in need, often giving her last dollar if it meant making someone else's burden a little lighter. She welcomed everyone with kindness, generosity, and compassion.

Above all, her faith, kindness, generosity, and selfless spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m
