GOSHEN-Gregory Robert Ritter, 61, of Union Mi died on June 28th 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by the love and care of his family after braving a valiant war with metastatic cancer. He is now free from pain and made new in Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior.
He was born in Rochester, Indiana on July 15th, 1960, to Robert and Margaret Ritter. As the youngest son, he enjoyed following around his big brother Rick and learning to work on anything that had a motor with his dad.
Those times in the garage with his dad would solidify his lifelong interest as a gear head. Whether it was a car, truck, snowmobile, or motorcycle, if it could run, he was interested.
Over the years he worked at places such as Ryder Trucking, Heart City Radiator, Wise International, and finally as his own boss of Ritter Trucking.
When he wasn’t under the hood, he enjoyed snowmobile trips to the UP, roller coaster parks, tending to the garden, classic rock, and a nice mushroom & swiss.
Greg was proceeded in death by both of his parents and paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his two daughters, Taneshia (Jason) Ritter of Elkhart, and Tiffany (Clayton) Runyon of Goshen, 6 grandchildren, Daltin, Malikkii, Ezeakiel, Cannon, Jakobey, and Dorothy. One bonus grandson, KaiDyn. A brother, Rick and his beloved Aunt Donna. He is also survived by his cousin, Walker (Shelly), 2 nieces Kendra and Kristy, and a great nephew Gavin.
Dad was a simple man who would never be suckered into anything, so he will be going “up in smoke” as he called it with Elkhart Cremation Services handling the arrangements. There will be a celebration of life held at George’s Restaurant & Grill to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be given to SPA Ministries.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his arrangements.
