EDWARDSBURG, MI- Harold Eugene Bingaman, 82, of Edwardsburg, Michigan passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital following a short battle with several cancers. He was born on March 14, 1939, in Greencastle, PA to the late Daniel and Frances (Hartford) Bingaman.
Harold farmed in Chambersburg, PA and moved to Indiana in 1965. He then moved to Michigan in late 1995. For 4 years he was a plant manager at an automotive stamping plant in Goshen. Then he had B Line Express in Elkhart, a transportation company for 11 years operating 45 semis all over the United States. Following that he had It’s the Pitts Bar and Restaurant in Union, Michigan for 19 years. His final occupation was transporting RV’s and travel trailers for 21 years starting with Star Fleet and then with Indiana Transport from 2009 until his passing.
He will be missed by many as he made friends easily and would help anyone he could. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Harold married Judith Hibshman on September 14, 1996, in Cassopolis, Michigan. She survives along with his son, Dale (Patty) Bingaman of Elkhart, IN; two stepsons, Christopher Hibshman who resides with Donna Hutchinson and her children, Kristina, Brian and Elizabeth and her grandsons Reuben and Andrew of Jones, Michigan and Matthew Hibshman and his daughter Tylee of Nokomis, Florida and one stepdaughter, Susan Pettit, of Union, Michigan and her son, Ryan, her granddaughter Rylynn, and her grandson Ryder. Also surviving is a sister, Mae Duffy of Waynesboro, PA and two sisters-in-law: Joanne Bingaman of Chambersburg, PA and Joyce Motter of Osceola, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Karen Myers, brothers Claude, Daniel, Jr., Merrill, Ellis, Donald, and a sister Pauline.
Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with his care and per his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
