Harry C Cress

ELKHART-Harry C. Cress, 77, passed away May 11, 2025, at his home in Elkhart.  He was born October 23, 1947, in Elkhart.  On August 10, 1974, he married Melody Tyler; she survives along with 3 children, Scott Cress, Amber (Justin) Mealor, Carrie Cress, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are 3 siblings, Jeffrey (Gladys) Cress, Brenda Gallay, and Paul Gallay.

  He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Cress, mother, Helen Gallay, stepfather Robert Gallay.

  Harry worked at Homan Lumber for over 35 years.  He was a country man at heart that enjoyed going to Rodeos, horses, cowboys, county music and collecting toy semi-trucks.  Harry had a kind and generous heart.  The most important thing to him was his family and making precious memories with them. 

  Per his wishes cremation will take place. 

Celebration of Life will be May 24, 2025, at Clark Memorial Church, 316 Division Street Elkhart, In 46516.  Visitation is 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM with services to follow.. 

  Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help offset expenses. 

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
