Henry Quist Obituary

Life story of Henry Quist

Henry Arthur Quist was born in Flint Michigan on July 7, 1937, to Carol B Quist and Henry Quist. He passed away on July 1,2025 at his home in Elkhart, Indiana. Henry was 87 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Quist, of 67 years, a daughter, Kathy (Bob) Hensley, a brother, Pete (Jane) Quist. 3 grandchildren, Tracy Jones, Kim Hernandez, and Brandon Quist . He has four great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren he was proceeded in death by his parents and a son, Stephen W Quist, who passed away on June 3, 2025.

Henry was an Eagle Scout with (Osceola) troop 122 and enjoyed camping and fishing in Canada. After graduating from Mishawaka high school, Henry entered the United States Air Force where he became a radar specialist. He served four years and was honorably discharged. He then took a job with the CTS corporation as a thermoset molding press operator and union Steward. He worked at CTS for 39 years and still attended the retiree's breakfast every month and maintained friendships with his coworkers.

After retirement, he participated in the senior division of the great race with his friend Billy Polston. He also took tai chi classes, enjoyed photography, and wrote poetry. He shared his work of pictures and poetry with family and friends. He enjoyed gardening with his son-in-law, Bob Hensley in their shared garden. He also enjoyed morning walks with Bob for the last 20 years. He was loved by all. My Dad was Superman, and I could not have asked for more. Henry has chosen to be cremated and requested a private family celebration of life. The photo chosen to accompany this tribute was selected by him—because it reflects exactly who he was.
