Herbert “Herb” L. Hubbard, 75 passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his residence in Niles, MI. He was born on December 26, 1948, in Dowagiac, MI, to Herbert Melvin and Mary Frances (Butler) Hubbard, both of whom preceded him in death.

On December 18, 1993, Herb married the former Terrie L. Pinch, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 30 years, Herb is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Adam) Northcutt; son, Steven R. Hubbard; stepson, Stephen D. Scott; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, with a third expected soon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael D. Hubbard; and stepson, Leslie F. Scott.

Herb was employed as a gage designer, and he ran his own business for many years. He enjoyed numerous hobbies, including metal-detecting, stamp collecting, bowling, softball, paintball, racing, and working on his 1977 Chevrolet Silverado. He enthusiastically supported anything related to Detroit pro-sports as well as University of Michigan football (Go Blue!). Herb served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

A memorial Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church, 1605 Silverbrook Avenue, Niles, MI. Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
