JACQUElYN B. MEFFORD

August 10, 1936 – June 22, 2025

NILES, MI- Jacquelyn B. Mefford, 88, of Niles, Michigan, passed away Sunday June 22, 2025, at her residence in Niles.  She was born, August 10, 1936, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to Herldon & Grace (Jewell) Becraft.

On July 6, 1957, she married John Paul Mefford.  He preceded her in death on May 21, 2020.  Surviving are 2 children, John Michael (Pamela) Mefford of Elkhart, IN, Gregory Scott Mefford of Niles, MI; 2 grandchildren, Brookelin Mefford and Kristopher Gregory Scott Mefford and 1 great-grandson, Riley Hinds and 1 great granddaughter Zoey Mefford..  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Jacquelyn was formerly employed as a schoolteacher and taught Spanish.  In keeping with her wishes cremation will take place.  Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her care.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday July 26, 2025 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. with a lunch to follow at the Portage Prairie United Methodist Church on Orange Road in Niles Michigan and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
