ELKHART-James E. Byrer Sr, 82, passed away June 7, 2026, at his home in Elkhart. He was born February 26, 1944, in Warsaw, IN to Donald & E. Ruth (Norman) Byrer.
On March 23, 1977, he married Connie Hostetler; she survives along with 1 son, Jim Byrer Jr., 2 grandchildren, and several siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and several siblings.
James was a U.S. Army Veteran that served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed tinkering in his barn, working on anything automotive, parading horses in his younger years and was a A.C. Tractor enthusiast.
Per his wishes cremation will take place and there will be no services.
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
