James Michael Deters

GOSHEN-James “Jim” M. Deters, 55, passed away March 28, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital.  He was born December 1, 1965 in Chicago, IL.

  On September 23, 2000 he married Amy Knox; she survives along with their son, Chase Deters, his mother, Sandra Deters, an aunt, Susan (Michelle) Smith, siblings, John (Charlene) Deters, Bob (Cindy) Deters, Lynn (Tim) Pratt and numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Deters and siblings, Cathy Deters and Mark Deters.

  Jim worked at LaSalle Bristol for over 30 years.  He enjoyed listening to music, going to concerts and watching sports in his spare time.  His favorite teams were Notre Dame, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Black Hawks. 

  A celebration of life gathering will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home.

  Memorial contributions may be given to the Wishbone Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 124 Douglas, MI 49406. 

  Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
