James Roland Hesch

James Roland Hesch of Mishawaka, IN passed away Friday, March 7th surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Mishawaka to the late Roland K. and Genevieve (Bueche) Hesch.  Jim was a 1966 graduate of Mishawaka High School and graduated in 1978 from IUSB earning a B.S. degree in accounting.

His professional life was as a cost accounting manager which subsequently led to being a plant controller.  Affiliated memberships included the American Management Association and the YMCA of Mishawaka/South Bend of which he was a board member.  Employers included Dodge Mfg., SPX Corp., and Asimco.  His expertise led to many business trips to China and Japan where he enjoyed meeting the people and learning about their rich cultures.

Jim enjoyed music, traveling, baseball, racquetball, as well as a good game of spirited Euchre!  He also enjoyed the Spring Lake, Michigan area and anything Notre Dame.  He was an avid reader of scientific journals. 

Throughout his lifetime Jim was a devout Catholic and served the church through many religious functions and donations.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Pamela Hesch, daughters Jamie (James) Williams, Holly (Nathan) Ankrom, and son Scott Hesch.  Grandchildren include Zoe, David, Nicole, Kyra, Jayde, and Halle plus great grandson, Caysen.  His surviving siblings include Kathryn, Margery, Mickey (Larry), Mary, and his brother John (Colleen).  Many nieces and nephews were left behind. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sally, brother- in-law John Frank, niece Jennifer and nephew Johnny.

Jim was a kind and loving person who had a generous spirit and was always ready to help those in need.  The family is grateful for the excellent care given to our brother by the staff in the Memory Care Unit at Bell Tower. 

The family will honor Jim’s wishes for a private family service.
