ELKHART-Janice S. VanSyckle, 84, passed away April 19, 2023 at her home in Elkhart, Indiana. Janice was born October 3, 1938 to Clyde and Gladys Crawford in Reed City, MI. Janice is widowed to Karl W. VanSyckle and together they have 1 living son Douglas VanSyckle, 7 living grandchildren, Mackenzie (Joe) Hernandez, Caleb VanSyckle, Morgan VanSyckle, Alex Mrozek, Amanda Meredith, Allyson Reichenbach and K. Michael VanSyckle. Also surviving is 7 great-grandchildren, 1 sister Judy (Tom) Caswell and 1 brother Fred Crawford. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter Karen Dale and grandchild, Kyle VanSyckle, sister Doris Jeannine Soper.. Janice retired from Excel Industries after many years of service. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Club Pogo on her computer, going to garage sales, reading books and novels, spending time with family, watching Dr. Pol on tv, and going to church. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. celebration of life service Saturday, May 13th, 2023 at NorthSide Baptist Church followed with the service at 12 p.m. Burial will be held privately at Carleton Cemetery Elkhart, Indiana.
