Janie Roberts

Janie Roberts, 47, of Goshen, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband, Corey; sister, Jackie; mother, Juanita; and friends, on Thursday, July 11, 2024 after a nine-month battle with cancer. 

She was born on December 7, 1976, in Weslaco, TX, to Juan and Juanita Acosta. She married Corey Lee Roberts on April 28, 2008.

Janie is survived by her parents; siblings, Juan, Andrew, Eric Jason and Jackie Linn; nieces, Amy and Emily; nephews, Johnny, Johnathan, and Jason. Janie was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Janie graduated in 1995 from her hometown La Villa High School, where she excelled in many sports and enjoyed singing for school events. 

Janie worked very hard at Goshen Health Hospital for 27 years, starting as CNA and working her way up to IT as a successful application analyst. She helped to initiate the electronic computer documentation system at the hospital. Janie had previously worked as a pharmacy technician in Texas, before coming back to Goshen. 

Janie loved her dogs, Taco and Nut Nut, as her children. During her battle with cancer, she enjoyed sitting outside watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. 

She loved worshipping at Living Hope Christian Fellowship throughout her cancer journey and inspired others by her faith in Jesus. 

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Living Hope Christian Fellowship Church, 501 N. Indiana Avenue, Goshen, IN.

Contributions in memory of Janie may be donated to Dogtown Resort in Middlebury, IN. 

Her husband, Corey; sister, Jackie; and her mother, Juanita, would like to thank "the village" that surrounded Janie with love throughout her life and during her battle with cancer.
