Jerry Allen Bender

Jerry Allen Bender was born on June 26, 1951 in LaGrange, Indiana. He was the son of LaVern E.  and Valetta M. (Sharick) Bender. Jerry passed away on October 5, 2024 in Goshen, IN.

Jerry was the oldest of four children and lived most of his life in northern Indiana communities. Jerry enjoyed playing golf and pitching in a men’s softball league in Goshen. Jerry served in the United States Air Force for six years, including time in Okinawa, Japan. After his time in the Air Force, Jerry settled in Middlebury, IN, where he joined the fire department as a volunteer. Later, Jerry moved to Goshen, where he spent the remainder of his life.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, along with several aunts and uncles. Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Larry E. (Rebecca) Bender, Cheryl L. Foster, and Pamela K. (Tracy) Baugh.

There will be no services at this time. Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
