Joan King Obituary

BRISTOL- Joan Marie King, 78, of Bristol, Indiana, passed away Thursday January 25, 2024, at Elkhart General Hospital.  She was born September 15, 1945, in Akron, Ohio to Lawrence & Emma (Koegler) Taylor.

She married James (J.C.) King, and he preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Dale Taylor and a grandson, Austin Owens. Joan is survived by 2 children, Lisa (Jerry) Pittenger of Bristol, IN, David Morrison of Magadore, OH; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Virginia McKay of Randolph, OH.  Also leaving behind is her 4 legged companion Rosie.

Joan was formerly employed at Ventline in Bristol (now Dexter Axle) for over 20 years.  She was a member of the Cass County Conservation Club and the Bristol American Legion Post #143 Auxiliary.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting and baking and loved life.

Joan was a life member of the DAV.  Was an avid supporter of American Veterans, past, present and future.

The family would like to extend a heartful appreciation and a big thank you to her dear friends Lee & Brenda Hershberger for all the love and care they gave to Joan.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday February 18, 2024, at the Bristol American Legion Post #143, 905 Maple Street, Bristol, Indiana 46507.

Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her care.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Bristol American Legion Auxiliary.
