In Loving Memory of Joan Evelyn (Schulz) Pauley

Joan E. Pauley, fondly known as Joanne, died peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of eighty-seven. Joanne was a doting “Nana”, devoted mother, daughter, friend and pet lover.

Born on April 29, 1937, in Buffalo, NY, to Evelyn and Waldemar Schulz. She was a person who loved to prepare meals for her family at holidays and hosted weekly Saturday lunch for many years. Joanne’s priority in life was her family. She put them first, offering support and encouragement in good times and hard times. Her giving and generosity were felt by all in her family. Joanne was a wonderful gardener and loved not only growing most vegetables and fruits but also lilacs, hydrangeas, peonies, roses and many house plants.

Joanne is survived by her children, Michele (Rodger) Swinehart-Evans; Marc (Diane) Pauley; Marlane (Mike) Huber; her six grandchildren; Jamie Swinehart; Chloe (Kevin) Cox; Mallory Pauley, Madison Pauley (Kyle Halverson), Cara Huber (Bryce Wills), Kirstin Huber and her beloved great grandson, Cade Cox. She is also lovingly remembered by friends Harry & Marie Schick; Harry & Mary Schugardt; Bonnie Schultz; Sharon Forte and Mike & Linda Simmons. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn J. Pauley.

A private graveside memorial service will take place at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Here Kitty, Kitty Rescue and/or The Elkhart County Humane Society in Joanne's memory. Though she is no longer with us, Joanne’s sassy spirit and love of family, friends and furry friends will continue to live on.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with her care.
