John Ruderschmidt

John Ruderschmidt, 91, resident of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Center for Hospice Care, Esther’s House in Elkhart, IN.

John was born in Apatin, Yugoslavia on March 21, 1933, to the late John and Rosa (Springman) Ruderschmidt. John was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rosa Frisam and Anna Hein; and niece, Rosemarie Blenman.

John is survived by his nephew, Alan Blenman of Speedwell, TN, and his companion and best friend of over 20 years, Benitta Hermann, and her family.

For 32 years, John worked at Gemeinhardt Company, a manufacturer of woodwind instruments. He enjoyed the company of friends and family and loved to dance. He had a smile and kind word for everyone he met. 

Graveside services for John will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Prairie Street Cemetery, 301 E. Hively Avenue, Elkhart, IN. Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with his care.
