Joyce Arlene Chambers, 80, went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 6, 2026.
Joyce was born on January 19, 1946, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Howard and Dorothy Leslie. In 1964, she married William Chambers Sr. in Knox, Indiana, beginning life filled with love, faith, and devotion to family.
Joyce had a deep love for Jesus and carried her faith with her throughout her life. She found joy in simple things, especially the companionship of her beloved dogs, who brought her comfort and happiness over the years, as well as the dear friends she made along the way.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Dorothy Leslie; stepfather, Adrian Chalmers; her husband, William Chambers Sr.; her son, William “Billy” Chambers Jr.; her sister, Joan Birchell (Kretchmer); and her brother, Daryl Chalmers.
She is survived by her son, Alvin Chambers (Sandy); her sisters, Sandra Prater and Mary Lou Troy; her brothers, Arthur Kretchmer, Jack Kretchmer (Kate), and Robert Kretchmer (Dorothy). She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughters, Natasha, Naomi, Krystal, and Cheyenne, as well as six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Joyce will be remembered for her strong faith, her love for her family, and the warmth she shared with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
