On Thursday the 28th Ken took a break. Ken was known to most as Dad, Papa, Pops, Country Ken (Old 10 Can), Killer
Ken (Ice Bikes), or as Rich called him, Old Man.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Jackie and Ken met at the K-Inn Cafe. They operated the restaurant together for a number of years. He and his wife Jackie have been side by side for 50 years.
Ken was a teacher at heart. He would take time to teach anyone how to help
themselves. He was always the first to tackle any project. A graduate of
Key West College with a business degree, he chose an occupation as a cement
mason. He often told his wife and children “I poured that”. We didn’t go
anywhere he hadn’t left his mark.
He was so proud of his family. He noted family was his best
accomplishment. Ken was famous for his fried peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches covered in cool whip. The kind out of the can which he made sure
all the kids stuck in their mouth. His rug rides were a favorite for his
kids and grandkids. He loved a great cookout with the whole family present.
Ken was an avid racer. He raced go carts, motorcycles, stock cars, ice
bikes, and anything with a motor. When he wasn’t racing, he was eager to go
watch.
He left behind a deeply saddened family. Wife Jackie, daughter Candi Miller
(Jamie), son Jason Geans (Autumn), grandchildren Kody, Tyler, Summer,
Spring, Season great grandchild Brandilyn, dogs Marley, Lucy.
In a true tribute to Ken there will be a cookout at Jason’s house 10-28-23.
Please bring your favorite dish and story about a great man. Meat as always
will hit the grill bout 3:00 pm. We love and miss you Dad.
