Kevin Nadai Obituary

Kevin Patrick Nadai, of Niles, Michigan, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2020 after a brief unexpected illness at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born April 4, 1965 to Peter and Sophie Nadai, in Detroit, Michigan.

On May 31, 1997, he married Sherry Lingerfelt, who survives, along with their four children: Reagan Michelle, McKinley Grace, Harrison Quinn and Carter James. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Kathy) Nadai and Constance (Wayne) Leclerc:  his father-in-law, William Lingerfelt, brothers-in-laws, Art Callahan, Doug (Jenny) Callahan, Gregory (Mary) Bierwagen and Adam Lingerfelt, and his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Kyle, Kade, Sarah, Charles, Nicholas and Andrew and many, many friends.

Kevin graduated from Warren Mott High School in Warren, Michigan, in 1983 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1987 in Advertising and Public Relations from Grand Valley State University. While there, he was the chaplain of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and especially dedicated to their philanthropy, PUSH (Play Units for the Severely Handicapped.) In May 2016, he received his Masters in Homeland Security from George Washington University. He was employed as a Sales Engineer at Solink Corporation.

Kevin was passionate about many things: serving the community, learning all he could and most importantly, his family and friends. He was a Sheriff Reserve for the Cass County, Michigan police department and served on the security team at Granger Community Church for many years. He was a strong, steadfast gentleman, who believed in honor, duty, and love.

He would tell you he was most proud of his children; Reagan, who will graduate from the University of Michigan in December; McKinley, a sophomore at the University of Michigan and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta; Harrison, a freshman in the aviation program at Western Michigan University and Carter, a sophomore at Edwardsburg High School.

He was a private pilot, scuba diver, beekeeper, home brewer, grill master, proud owner of the Club Kevin Facebook group and a life-long learner. His intelligence, wit, humor and love for his family were unparalleled and will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at South Bend City Church, 635 S. Lafayette Street, South Bend, Indiana. Family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a service following at 1:00 p.m.
