Larry Linton Obituary

ELKHART- Larry L. Linton 85, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, April 23, 2022, in his home with his wife and daughter at his bedside.

     He was born December 26, 1936 in Elkhart, IN to Clarence and Violet (Welch) Linton and was a lifelong resident of Elkhart.

     He married his high school sweetheart Lynn Bowers on June 23, 1957, in Elkhart.  He is survived by his wife and daughter Lori (Mike) Weaver of Elkhart, Grandsons Arec D. Simeri of Las Vegas, NV, Christopher L. (Lia) Simeri of Carmel, IN, Granddaughter Anna C. Simeri and her fiancée Sean Leary of Van Nuys, CA, Great grandson Audie D. Simeri of Carmel, IN and his sister Janet Linton of Elkhart.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, son Todd Bowers Linton and his brother George Linton.

     Larry was the owner and craftsman of Larilee Woodwind in Elkhart for 46 years.  He volunteered for 15 years at God’s Kitchen of Guidance Ministry and many years with the Elkhart Hugs Project.  He was involved in the development of Cleveland Little League where he coached his son for many years. 

     Larry was an avid golfer and was a member of Four Lakes Country Club and Christiana Creek Country Club.  He also loved fishing with his son-in-law Mike on the many lakes in Michigan.  His greatest joy was spending time with family, and he never missed any event that his children and grandchildren were involved in.  He also was a member of River Oaks Community Church for 25 years.

     There will be a Memorial Service on Monday May 16th, 2022, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m., service at River Oaks Community Church, 58020 C.R. 115, Goshen, IN.  Pastor Scott Tilley will render the service.

     Elkhart Cremation Services is honored to be entrusted with Larry’s care.  Memorial donations may be given to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
