Laura Roy, age 64, of Elkhart, IN peacefully transitioned from this life on May 12, 2026. Laura was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family matriarch, and faithful friend whose kindness and joyful spirit touched many lives.


Born on June 6, 1961, to Theodore Flowers and Geneva (Meeks) Flowers, Laura lived a life centered around faith, family, compassion, and service to others. She carried herself with an open heart and caring spirit.


She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband, Bobby Roy; her loving children, Erika Crutcher (Brownlee), Sierra Brownlee, I’Maya Roy, and Elijah Roy; and her treasured grandchildren, Jacquez, Kamaiah, Jackira, Jacquise, Ivron, Javion, Javarion, Timothy, Si’Asia, and Austin Jr. Laura was also a proud and loving great-grandmother to Kaylani, Ny’Aire, and Nyla, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. 


She is also survived by her loving mother, Geneva Flowers; her sisters, Angel Gates and Karen Brownlee, both of Elkhart, and Charlotte Malone of Stone Mountain, GA her brothers, Michael Brownlee, Dwight Brownlee, David Brownlee all of Elkhart, IN and Samuel Brownlee of Springfield, IL, Brian Flowers of Stone Mountain, GA and her special niece Sonya Taylor along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.


Laura earned her CNA certification as a teen and dedicated her life to caring for the elderly and others in need. She owned and operated a licensed childcare service within the community for more than 25 years and also served as a foster parent to many children throughout her lifetime. Her nurturing spirit and selfless heart made a lasting impact on countless families.


Laura found great joy in cooking meals for family and friends, hosting gatherings, playing cards, and creating a home filled with love and laughter. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Her strength, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.


She faithfully attended New Beginnings U.W.C Church and loved the Lord throughout her life. Laura’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue through the many lives she touched.


Laura was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Flowers; her beloved children, Iris Brownlee and Lanasha Brownlee; her grandmother, Luddie Mae Suggs; her sister, Mary Ann Brownlee; her brothers, Clint Brownlee and Allen Brownlee; her cherished nephews, Jermaine Brown and Tyler Brownlee; and her beloved granddaughter, La’Toy Brownlee.


A memorial service celebrating Laura’s life will be held at: New Beginnings U.W.C Church 1527 Belmont Ave Elkhart 46516 June 6th at 1-3pm EST Laura will be cremated at: 2100 W. Franklin St. Elkhart 46516 “Her love, laughter, and memories will live on forever.” The family kindly requests guest dress in purple, lavender, and/or ivory and welcomes your attendance in honor of Laura Roy’s legacy.
