With heavy hearts and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Linda Stockman Griffiths, lovingly nicknamed “Grandma Linda.” A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, who brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Born to Genevieve Marie Tanzie and George Wilson Stockman. She was a cherished sister to her older brothers, George Wilson Stockman Jr., Gerald William Stockman, and Gene Wallace Stockman, holding close the bond they shared.
Linda was the heart of her family. As a devoted mother to Robert Howard Griffiths III. (Kristi née Morland) and Romy Griffiths Swartout, she led with strength, compassion, and endless encouragement. As a grandmother, she found her greatest joy in cheering from the sidelines, sharing stories, offering wise advice, and sneaking a sweet treat whenever she could. She was a proud grandmother to Mitchell Griffiths, (Elise née Wolff) and their recent daughter, Miller Frances Griffiths; to Abby (née Griffiths) Comer, (Cameron); and to Griffin and Kendal Swartout.
Her home was a gathering place, beautifully decorated and filled with love, delicious food, and the kind of laughter that lingers long after the day ends.
For 28 dedicated years, Linda worked at Giant Eagle, where she was more than a valued employee—she was a friend and a steady presence to coworkers and customers alike. Her generous spirit shone through her leadership in the Harvest for Hunger campaign, helping her store earn recognition for donations countless years in a row. She believed deeply in caring for her community and led by example in giving back.
A proud and loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she rarely missed a game and celebrated every win as if she were part of the team.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: decorating her home to reflect the season, gathering around the table for games of Bridge, and spending time surrounded by friends who became like family.
Linda will be remembered for her big heart, welcoming smile, and her passion for fashion. Her love was steady, her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the many lives she touched. Though we will miss her deeply, we find comfort knowing her spirit lives on in every holiday tradition, every Steelers cheer, every deck of cards, and every sweet treat shared in her honor.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 12pm-3pm at the Acker-Moore VFW, 3733 Fishcreek Road, Stow, Ohio 44224
Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with her care.
