Marion "Butch" Wolf Obituary

In loving memory of Marion “Butch” Arthur Wolf, who passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the age of 78. Butch was born on December 2, 1945 in New Buffalo, Michigan, to Howard and Silvia Wolf. Butch grew up and attended New Buffalo Schools. He married his first wife, Rita Jane, in 1965, and they had daughters, Natalie Toledo and Veronica Wolf.

Butch started his job as a brakeman/conductor for the CSX/Chessie System Railroad in his late teens. He would retire from it after more than 25 years, to support his 2nd wife Mary’s ceramics business. They had a horse farm and property that they enjoyed caring for, along with many stray animals. They indulged in camping trips with their family and horses. Their children were Ryan, Jennifer, and Matthew. Mary preceded him in death in 2010.

Butch loved country music and seeing the legends in concert. He had a lifelong appreciation for a good deal and was an avid thrifter, frequently stopping at yard sales, auctions, and flea markets. Butch liked to spend time at the movies with his grandson, Holden, creating cherished memories.

Later in life, he reconnected with high school sweetheart, Judy Fedder, whom he enjoyed some of his last years with. Butch and his girlfriend, Judy, had one last adventure to Shipshewana before his death.

Outside of work, Marion was known for his warmth, kindness, and generosity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and loved to tinker and fix small engines, making many friends along the way. He always had a project to talk about.

Butch is survived by his children, Veronica, Natalie, Ryan, Jennifer, and Matt. His grandsons, Justin, Alex, and Holden. His first wife, Rita Jane, and his girlfriend, Judy Fedder. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on August 24, 2024 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Morley Community Center, 151 7th Street, Morley, MI 49336. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Humane Society of West MI (give.hswestmi.org), in honor of Butch’s love of animals. Butch will be forever remembered for his unwavering love, steadfast support, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. May their memory be a blessing to all who mourn their passing.
